A new CEO..

David heading to be CEO.. not of Yahoo, AOL, some DSP or network/exchange, commerce play, but a site called 1stdibs… it’s all news to me!  But here’s a press piece on it, congrats and good luck!

Diane Yu on Freewheel

Good piece.. not sure I see the $160B opportunity entirely, but even a small piece of that pie is tasty!

You may want to sit down…

I know I needed a moment to let this one sink in.  Mind you, this is good news, but that doesn’t make it a little less surprising.

Jason Bigler has returned to Google to lead Product in Display, in EMEA.  He’s moving to London in the new year and started yesterday.  Clearly, he ignored all the advice he got from Ari.

I’m psyched to have him back, and EMEA will love having him there as well!

KO at Disrupt

I enjoyed, some good insights.. especially around using technology to solve user problems.  And tech companies are “momentum stocks.”  ”Throw the turd in the punch bowl at the party.”  Simple, but spot-on.  Not being sarcastic, he was real good.

The good & bad

Good news: Tony Katsur has landed at Maxifier, over from MediaMath.  Not sure why he’d leave there, but congrats

Bad news: Due to some scheduling messes, I couldn’t make the SF reunion last night, hope it was great!

Congrats Dwight & 10gen

10gen & MongoDB are kicking ass!  Just raised some nice coin

KO talks about start-ups..

Many of you may have seen this, but hey, my job is to curate the web for DCLK stuff, so here it is..

Shipin’ over to Groupon

Here at Google, losing someone to Groupon isn’t a shocker.  I was, pleasantly, surprised to see that old HR Clicker Brian Schipper is now at Groupon too!  Heading up their HR.  Pre-IPO, not a bad time to jump on board ;-)

Solve is trying to Solve something..

Stu Libby is now over at SolveMedia, who got a nice piece in AdWeek today.

The Nexus (+) One

The folks over at AppNexus, including, but not limited to (I know I’m overlooking someone) Ari & Mike Rubenstein just added another heavy hitter: Matt Haies. The former DoubleClick counsel is now GC over there, a great hire for them and a great opportunity for Matt. Matt’s wife, Jen Ladenburger, is still prospering at Google :-)
